All Natural Black Angus Beef, Home Delivery Now Available!

Grass-fed Beef

Sandberg Land and Cattle Company is excited to announce the launch of our home delivery program! And guess what? Delivery is free with a qualifying order of $150 or more!

Until now, government regulations restricted our sales to bulk only. Customers were required to order a minimum of a quarter steer and pick up their final product directly from the processor. NEW for 2021, we are now contracting with a USDA inspected processing facility which gives us the freedom to sell individual cuts of meat to those looking to buy a smaller quantity of our high-quality beef. As an added service, we decided to offer home delivery to make your purchase from us even easier!

Don’t worry, though, we will continue to offer bulk sales (quarter, half, whole steer) for those of you looking to take advantage of the substantial savings bulk orders offer.

Ordering Information

All Sandberg Land and Cattle Company beef is grass and forage fed, raised without added hormones or antibiotics. We are a small, family run farm focused on quality rather than quantity, therefore, a limited quantity of beef is available each month so be sure to place your order early, especially for bulk sales.

All retail sales require a minimum order of $150 and you’ll need to be located within our delivery zone. Currently, we offer delivery to the Twin Cities metro area, St. Cloud, as well as the Mille Lacs and Brainerd Lakes areas.

Please contact us for details on how to place an order.

Pricing Information

The following pricing is current as of January 1, 2021. Prices are subject to change at any point without notice.

Custom Processing – Bulk Sales

If you have the freezer space, you may want to consider placing a bulk order. We charge $3.25/lb hanging weight plus processing fees for our bulk sales. Minimum order size is a quarter steer. Currently, processing is approximately $1.25/lb for half or whole steer and $1.29/lb quarter steer, any specialty processing is an extra charge. Please note, the processing charges are set by the processor and can vary depending on which processor we contract with. We will inform you of the current processing charges at the time of your order.

Bulk ordering is a simple process but can be a bit confusing if you haven’t ordered this way before. Below is an example to help walk through what to expect when you order in bulk.

First, let’s start with hanging weight. Hanging weight is the weight of the carcass once the animal is skinned and eviscerated. The carcass is then left to cure for about two weeks prior to packaging. The weight of the meat received is less than the hanging weight due to water and bone loss, and trimming.

Ex. Hanging weight of 800lbs
(~500lbs of meat after processing)

Whole Steer:
avg $7.20/lb meat
800lbs x $4.50/lb = $3,600 for 500lbs of meat
Half Steer:
avg $7.20/lb meat
400lbs x $4.50/lb = $1,800 for 250lbs of meat
Quarter Steer:
avg $7.26/lb meat
200lbs x $4.09/lb=$908 for 125lbs of meat

The above is only an example and is based on a steer we recently had processed. Hanging weights vs lbs of meat received can vary depending on the size of the steer, cure time, trimming, etc.

Processing charges are set by the processor and are paid directly by the buyer to the processor – hanging weight charges are paid by the buyer to Sandberg Land and Cattle Company.

To comply with government regulations, buyers are responsible for picking up their custom processed finished beef directly from the processor, Sandberg Land and Cattle Company can only deliver beef processed under USDA certification. If you require delivery, you will need to notify us ahead of time so we can request USDA inspected processing. USDA inspected processing is a higher charge than the custom processing charge illustrated above.

What to expect from an average quarter of beef:
• ~50 lbs. of lean ground beef
•6-8 Ribeyes
•* 6-7 T-Bone Steaks
•7-8 Sirloin Steaks
•Tenderized Round Steaks – 6-8 packages
•4-5 Chuck Roasts – 3# each
•2-3 Arm Roasts – 3# each
•2 packages Short Ribs & 2 packages Soup Bones
•1 Rump Roast – 3#
•2 Sirloin Tip Roasts – 3#
*Porterhouse is a larger T-Bone
*The Tenderloin and New York Strip are the boneless cuts of this steak – only available on a 1⁄2 or whole beef.

A down payment of $100 is required on all bulk orders and is applied towards the final hanging weight charge.

Best Beef We’ve had in a Long Time!

This was the best beef we have had in a very long time. We had hamburgers on the grill and stovetop that were tasty and juicy, also we used the beef and bone for soup which made the richest broth and the meat has always been so tender and fresh.

It is important to me to support a family farm that honors sustainability and a wholesome farming technique , is transparent, and is farm to table. I believe the product is healthier than mass produced meat.

The Best Beef We Ever Had Comes From Sandberg Land and Cattle

The best beef we have ever had comes from Sandberg Land and Cattle. We made the switch last year to buying a half of a cow, and we are so glad about our choice. We have many different cuts of meat, and each is fresh and delicious no matter which way we have prepared them. You can really taste the difference and tell it is grass-fed and high quality. Also the value of buying in bulk is a huge savings on amazing quality meat. Kelly and Andy were informative and provided such great guidance when we went through the process of buying our first cow share.

Aside from how delicious the beef is, we are even more proud to support a small, family run farm. The Sandberg family incorporates their strong values in all that they do and it is evident in the products they produce. They appreciate and take amazing care of their land and animals, they embody what is to be good stewards.

We can’t wait to keep cooking some delicious meals with the best grass fed beef and buy into another cow share.
